Chris worked the lightning metaphor really well, and in a number of really cool ways.

Right now I can’t stop thinking about how we always use the expression “you have a better chance of getting struck by lightning” to indicate low possibilities. The chances are so low that…

oh my god, this changes the whole meaning of “struck by lightning” from something negative to something positive. If “struck by lightning” is a metaphor for Chris’s success then HE doesn’t really die, that sad lonely boy who he was in high school dies and is replaced with someone who the whole world loves and admires and respects. So when Carson gets “struck by lightning” in the movie I will not be sad because I know that that boy went on to do great things and achieve his dreams and found his place at last. God I love deep thoughts and symbolism. Thank you Chris for actually putting meaning into your work and weaving it in so subtly that it catches you off guard when you least expect it.
